„The Elusive Henri” – a visual novel for „Jem of 100 Flowers”

I started in 2022 with a simple visual novel on RenPy, then switched to Godot Engine, and here we are: in July, as part of the “Jem of 100 Flowers”, the artist Marta and I made an adventure visual novel “The Elusive Henri”.

Events take place in the fictional city of Sao Paulo (not to be confused with Sao Paulo in Brazil!), where the mysterious and elusive thief Phantom Fox trades. She is the daughter of the legendary thief Cat Miguel, who left her as an inheritance not only a cool cloak and gadgets, but also a large mansion with a butler.

In the light of day, Phantom Fox is an ordinary rich student Anri. Naive, slightly stupid and narcissistic.

There’s no good detective https://nonukcasinosites.co.uk/blackjack-not-on-gamstop/ drama without a detective, right? That’s why detective Louis Perfume is on the trail of the Phantom Fox.

Smart, unsociable and extraordinary, Louis will stop at nothing to catch the thief. He has personal scores to settle with her: Louis is the son of the famous female detective Charlotte Perfume, for whose death Cat Miguel is guilty. Louis wants to catch the Phantom Fox so he can find the legendary thief and finish his mother’s work.

P. S. Although the acceptance of works for the jam has long been completed, we are still continuing to work on the novel: improving the interface, writing the script better, drawing additional sprites, closing plot holes where they exist. But we still welcome any feedback to make the game even better!

What is the essence of this competition called 100 Flowers?? Probably, the games are presented there with a certain criterion that should characterize this name of the competition.

And it would be interesting to know more about the “gameplay” of this novel. Does it have any gameplay mechanics other than scrolling through dialogues and perhaps selecting answer options?? Is there a variety of passages and different endings?. Maybe some mini-games will be included??
