Almost five and a half years have passed since the premiere of Mission: Serenity, and this time is more than enough to start dreaming with renewed vigor about the resurrection of Joss Whedon’s Firefly. Wait, who said “dream”?? Fuck dreams. It’s time to take the situation under your majestic control, fortunately, and there is a very excellent reason.
On the eve of the upcoming screening of all episodes of the most awesome space western in HD quality on the Science Channel, Captain Nathan Fillion gave an interview to Entertainment Weekly, in which he, by some incredible miracle, issued the following passage:
— If I won $300 million in the California lottery, the first thing I would do is buy the rights to Firefly, film it myself and post it on the Internet.
Silent scene: everyone is freaking out and https://noaccount-casinos.co.uk/review/spins-heaven/ thinking hard.
The first to wake up were two former Firefly screenwriters, who each declared in their microblog that the idea of “Fuck FOX, we’ll do everything ourselves” is damn tempting, and, if anything happens, they are all for. They were immediately joined by the dream mechanic Jewel State and the fantasy writer Patrick Rothfuss, well-known in certain circles, who, in an open letter to Nathan, promised that he would transfer him part of the proceeds from the sales of his future book (a continuation of quite a real bestseller) if he seriously took up the return of Firefly. The fan community was a little taken aback and began to think hard about how not to screw up such a chance.
The result of this remarkable thought process was the emergence of the site “Help Nathan Buy Firefly”, the creators of which decided to raise $300 million for the biblical miracle of resurrection from the dead.
For now, everyone who wants to help the process is only allowed to discuss their grandiose plans in the guest book, but as soon as the organizers receive the go-ahead to raise funds from Nathan or Joss, a super-mega system for collecting applications will be created on the site, in which anyone who cares will be able to pre-report how much money he is willing to give for the re-launch of Firefly into outer space.
As soon as the success of the enterprise becomes obvious (that is, everyone promises to mortgage their apartments and sell themselves into slavery), the official collection of funds will begin with the opening of an account and all related banking needs.
Judging by the project’s Facebook page*, at least 67,000 people are already ready to give their last pants for Mel and his comrades.
Congratulations to all Firefly fans for this hope for a brighter future!
