You can talk for a long time about the things that Helios Media did wrong in its time, but that’s not what we’re here for today. To continue my story, we need to remember one specific promise that the developers made to the players back then, back in 2006. And it sounded like this

How Tarkov fulfilled the promise of Lada Racing, or briefly about Gunporn

After all, it was then that Escape from Tarkov, a realistic shooter from Battlestate games, was first announced.

It featured many unique mechanics for the world of shooters, but we are only interested in one of them – weapon tuning. In Tarkov, unprecedented freedom is presented in improving your barrel – you can replace both banal silencers, handles, laser sights, and much more unexpected parts of the weapon – butts, barrels, and even the triggers on some pistols can be changed to those that are more pleasing to the eye. However, the changes in all these details are not decorative at all, they all have unique parameters, and their huge variety allows you to create truly interesting combinations. And right now we should remember the promise of the developers of one Moscow race. All tuning presented in Tarkov can be bought in reality.

And this concerns not only tuning – the game also presents quite a lot of samples from the civilian market – from ordinary “shotguns” to sports samples that are extremely rare in the gaming space:

And not only are we allowed to assemble a “dream machine gun” from many different parts, we are allowed to test it in real combat! Shootouts in Tarkov allow you to understand some of the pros and cons of your build – either it is too heavy, and the character cannot hold the target without shaking for a minute, or it is too long – the barrel keeps hitting the walls. Of course, the concept of meta is clearly represented here like nowhere else. After all, when some modules are better than others, you can always assemble a weapon from the best – all for the sake of good characteristics. However, not only will they cost the player a lot of money – this is understandable, but such weapons will simply look bad. An example of “hell cellos” that are collected for the sake of meta has already been shown above.

And this comprehensive, comprehensive tuning became one of the reasons for Tarkov’s wide popularity among weapon lovers. Moreover, the “gunporn” presented in it brought many new people into the civilian shooting society.

And what do we have? The promise once made by one Moscow studio regarding a racing game was fulfilled by a completely different, St. Petersburg studio, and in relation to a shooter. Is it good? Definitely yes. In the modern gaming space there are not many games whose entire mechanics are so close to reality, which is why Escape from Tarkov has become a real mecca for weapons lovers from all over the world.
